On November 14th, the 5th Yongzhou-Lanshan International Leather Goods and Luggage Expo grandly opened at the Audira Science and Technology Industrial Park (Feiteng Home Furnishings Industrial Park) in Lanshan County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. More than 700 people attended the opening ceremony, including leaders from provincial departments, Yongzhou city leaders, representatives of industry associations, industry experts, key merchants, enterprise buyers and project signing representatives, and relevant leaders from Lanshan County. Relevant city leaders presided over the ceremony and announced the start of the event.

This expo is jointly hosted by the Yongzhou Municipal People's Government, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Hunan Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the Hunan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade. It is jointly organized by the Lanshan County Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Lanshan County People's Government, and multiple departments including the Yongzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, with guidance provided by the China Leather Industry Association.

At the launch ceremony, a representative from the industry association stated that the luggage and leather goods industry is currently facing significant short-term development pressure due to uncertainties in the international economic situation and insufficient domestic consumption demand. However, my country's luggage industry possesses significant long-term advantages, including a complete industrial chain, a vast domestic market, and a highly skilled workforce, all of which are crucial supports for the industry's continued progress. The representative called on industry colleagues to remain confident, proactively adapt to changes in the market environment, promote the research and development of new materials, technologies, and processes through technological innovation, accelerate the industry's digital transformation, embrace new models and explore new business formats through innovative thinking, and solidify the foundation for the industry's high-end, intelligent, and green development, thus addressing external uncertainties with the certainty of high-quality development. The representative also affirmed the development achievements of the Lanshan luggage industry and hoped that Lanshan would use the expo as an important platform to continuously promote the high-quality development of the local leather and luggage industry.

Several key activities were also held at the ceremony: relevant officials from Lanshan County gave a presentation on investment promotion for the leather and luggage industry; the Yongzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce introduced the basic situation of the "Yongshanghui" activity platform; and a ceremony was held to award plaques to leading enterprises in the Yongzhou leather and luggage industry chain and to sign projects. After the launch ceremony, the attending leaders and guests visited the expo. It is reported that this year's expo, themed "A Rendezvous in Yongzhou, Embracing the World with Bags," will last for three days, covering an exhibition area of approximately 20,000 square meters and attracting nearly 300 participating companies.

In recent years, Lanshan County, leveraging its geographical advantages and industrial foundation, has adhered to the development concept of "facing south, facing the sea, and looking outwards," fully utilizing the synergistic effect of "exhibition + investment promotion." By leveraging the resources of the leather goods and luggage expo, the county has "borrowed a boat to go to sea" and "borrowed a ladder to climb higher," continuously expanding its investment network and business circle. Currently, the county has attracted over 170 enterprises related to the "one main industry and one specialty" of leather goods, luggage, and toys, with a total investment of 18 billion yuan, generating an annual output value of over 5.2 billion yuan. The county boasts an annual production capacity of 100 million toys, 5 million suitcases, 10 million pairs of shoes, and 10 million leather bags. Today, the annual International Leather Goods and Luggage Expo in Lanshan County has become an important platform for industrial exchange and trade cooperation, connecting the Greater Bay Area and linking domestic and international markets.
