On September 13th, a research team led by representatives from the International Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), including representatives from the Africa Climate Foundation and Senegal, visited Xinji City to investigate the development of the leather industry. The two sides held an exchange and discussion meeting to explore new paths for the development of the leather industry. Relevant officials from the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and leaders from Xinji City attended the event.
At the meeting, the mayor of Xinji City warmly welcomed the research team and provided a detailed overview of the local economic and social development. He pointed out that Xinji, as the birthplace of China's fur industry, has adhered to the concepts of innovation-driven and green development in recent years, continuously promoting the transformation and upgrading of the leather industry. It has built a complete industrial chain and possesses strong international competitiveness. He hoped that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to deepen international cooperation and jointly promote the high-quality development of the leather industry.
Representatives from the Africa Climate Foundation and relevant officials from the Senegalese Ministry of Industry and Commerce elaborated on the importance of deepening industrial cooperation between China and Senegal and expressed a clear willingness to strengthen cooperation. They stated that the purpose of this research visit was to learn in-depth about the development experience of Xinji's leather industry and explore more points of convergence for cooperation.
A representative from the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology introduced Hebei Province's initiatives in industrial support and green development, and affirmed the achievements of Xinji City's leather industry in its green transformation.
In her concluding remarks, a representative from the International Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology highly praised the standardized and green development achievements of Xinji's leather industry. She pointed out that Xinji has achieved remarkable results in clean production and technological innovation in the leather industry, and expressed hope that Xinji will continue to leverage its industrial advantages, deepen international exchanges and cooperation, and explore feasible paths for the green and low-carbon development of the global leather industry.
