On the afternoon of September 1, 2025, the Fifth Enlarged Meeting of the Ninth Council of the China Leather Association was held in Shanghai. Themed "Technology Empowers the Intelligent Future," nearly 400 industry representatives attended.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the China Leather Association analyzed the industry's operations, noting that while the industry will maintain stable operations in 2024, it faces internal and external pressures; operational pressures will intensify in the first half of 2025. He also highlighted development opportunities presented by macroeconomic policies, new productivity, and new consumption concepts, and offered recommendations for industry development.
The meeting reviewed and approved the "China Leather Association 2025 Annual Work Report," which summarizes the Association's work from multiple perspectives, including Party leadership, technological innovation, and green development, and addresses the Association's responsibilities. The meeting also reviewed and approved the "China Leather Association 2026 Annual Work Plan Proposal," which outlines future work focused on serving the industry. The meeting also reviewed and approved the 2024 membership fee income and expenditure report, including proposals for fee reductions and exemptions for struggling enterprises. The meeting also reviewed and approved the establishment of the Ninth Council's leadership group, clarifying the transition arrangements. The meeting also reviewed and approved the addition of executive directors and governing units, and presented awards to the newly added units.
The meeting also recognized outstanding industry units and individuals for 2025, stimulating industry momentum.
A signing ceremony was also held for a strategic agreement on jointly developing a leather and luggage industry base. The China Leather Association will collaborate with the governments of the three regions to promote industrial clustering and development.
The meeting concluded by calling on the entire industry to follow the relevant ideas, implement the spirit of the meeting, promote high-quality development of the industry, and contribute to China's modernization.
